TMC is always looking to grow its ongoing internship program. We have been hiring interns and postgraduates from various U.S. universities for many years and strive to attend numerous student fairs and host various student-run organizations across many campuses.
While TMC's Internship Program has been active since the 1980's, it has grown substantially in recent years. In 2017, nine students interned with TMC from a variety of majors such as Logistics, I.T. Development, and a rotational Supply Chain Program. Since, we have had 315 students complete internships at TMC.
During the summer of 2024, TMC offered internships to 44 students across 15 different universities, interning in several different departments such as Sales, HR, Customer Service, and IT.

TMC's Internship Program structure includes career-specific activities, projects, field trips, professional speakers, and collaboration with other students. Each July, TMC celebrates Intern Appreciation Day to help recognize the work that our interns do for the company. Each location participates in a cook-out style lunch, intern awards, and an annual competition amongst the interns.
At TMC, we put emphasis on being career-ready. No matter your major or internship department, all students will have the opportunity to explore multiple departments throughout TMC and learn about all things that make up the transportation industry.
In 2023, TMC became a corporate member of the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University in order to expand internship opportunities and provide an emphasis on professional growth and development, while also educating individuals on all the facets of sales and supply chain. Since opening the Student Training Center in Ames back in 2017, over 100 ISU students have completed internships, many of whom continued with great careers at TMC.
