Brett Crable Named Employee Owner of the Quarter for Q1

Brett Crable lives by a simple mantra: “Work hard in silence and let success be your noise.”

Keith Chyla, Vice President of Logistics Sales and Account Management, says that this sums up Brett as a person and his approach to his role as Strategic Account Manager. “That saying gives a good picture of him,” says Keith. “He’s very reliable, and he’s here to get the job done. He has high expectations of himself, and he does what he says he will.”

Brett joined TMC in 2017 as a Logistics Sales Representative in the Des Moines office. He later became a Logistics Team Lead and General Manager of TMC’s Phoenix office. In 2022, he moved into the Strategic Account manager role and returned to TMC’s Des Moines office. In all of these roles, Brett has shown a deep commitment to helping TMC succeed and building strong customer relationships. “Brett bleeds TMC,” Keith says. “He has really deep TMC experience, and he’s worked his way up in the company.”

Brett works with TMC Logistics’ national accounts to help them find the transportation solutions that are right for their business. Brett says that he enjoys knowing he is making an impact in his work—both for TMC and for our customers. "I work with executive leadership at these companies to make sure that we're bringing innovative solutions to them and we're understanding their supply chain and where they could use improvement,” Brett says. “We put them in a much better position, from a financial perspective, as well as helping them work more efficiently and be able to grow themselves.”

In his role as Strategic Account Manager, Brett works with TMC general managers, account executives, and sales representatives around the country—something that Keith says he does effortlessly. “Brett knows and respects everyone at TMC, and they respect him,” Keith says. “So he’s able to work with folks in other offices, across the organization, to make sure we’re getting the job done for our customers.”

Mike Crist, Senior Vice President of Logistics, agrees that Brett has made a big impact in the Logistics Division. “Brett serves as a trusted advisor to his customers—and he has become a trusted leader in our organization,” he says. “In this quarter specifically, he helped lead our largest customer growth story year over year.”

Brett says that he enjoys being part of a great team at TMC, with a culture that encourages growth. “From day one, it's always been about the people. Coming in with a group of people who are supportive, who want you to succeed, and you get to take part in their success in return, it’s just the cherry on top.”

Above all, Keith says, Brett “knows what his why is”—it’s his wife, Hannah, and their young daughter, Kollyns. His dedication to his family is a big part of what helps him succeed at his job.
